Rust may be an older game, but the console edition was released recently and brought plenty of new players to the fanbase. It would be a nice feature to bring new console players to the community. It is unclear if Twitch will create a drop system and partner with Double Eleven for the console version of the game. Twitch drops are currently Steam-specific items that can only be unlocked by playing Rust on Steam.

By browsing through the available options, and doing a little research, gamers can unlock at least a few of the rewards each week.Īt this point, there are unfortunately no drops for the console edition of Rust. Once an account has watched a channel for the allotted amount of time, the drop will be unlocked for the player, who can still earn more rewards by watching more content.īecause the majority of specific drops require four hours of viewing, there are a limited number of drops that can be acquired on drop week. The items and rewards are leaked before the drop week, so people will have time to choose the items they want and the streamers they plan to support. Users are not able to earn progress on more than one item in the drop at a time, so they need to decide which rewards they want to prioritize. These times vary from 1-4 hours and are typically not much longer. For streamer-specific items, drops are almost always unlocked by watching for a set amount of time. Once the Rust Twitch drops are live, viewers will have a week to complete the challenges in order to unlock drops.

Not only do the unique skins look better than the base skins, but they also give fans the opportunity to rep their favorite content creators on Rust island as they play.Įach month, Twitch and Rust will announce the participating streamers and unlockable items for that month. They help design skins, accessories, and decorations for use in-game. Popular Rust streamers are given the opportunity to help create new content every month. Gamers can get their hands on a handful of items by watching just one stream for a few hours. There is also one major change that Facepunch is implementing, which is explained in the September section below.
Rust drops free#
With all of the incredible items up for grabs, people will not want to miss out on the free drops this month. Every streamer-specific drop this month will have a 2-hour viewing requirement. Generic drops have a viewing requirement of 2, 4, and 6 hours respectively. In round 11, which spans from September 2 - September 9, gamers will have the opportunity to get 13 different Rust Twitch drops for tuning into streams.
